Water and Sewer Information

WINTER AND SUMMER BILL CALCULATIONDuring the winter months of December through May, the water and sewer bills are based entirely on actual water usage.  What this means is, the more water a customer uses, the more they will pay for sewer.  The winter water base rate allows for 300 cubic feet of consumption and the sewer base rate allows for 500 cubic feet.

During the summer months of June through November, in order to accommodate for irrigation, the sewer portion of a bill is based on the previous winter months’ total water consumption average; what that means is, saving water during the winter months will lower a customer’s sewer bills year round.  In addition, the summer water base rate consumption allotment increases from 300 to 500 cubic feet while the sewer base rate stays the same at 500 cubic feet.
 
Saving Water During the winter months will lower your bills all year round!Even small leaks can waste significant amounts of water. A faucet dripping one drop per second will waste 2700 gallons per year. A constant drip can go through as much as 100 gallons a day!

Check for toilet leaks. A leaky toilet can waste as much as 200 gallons per day. Put a little food coloring into the tank. If the color trickles into the bowl, there is a leak and repairs are needed.

Penalties
Overdue payments will be assessed a 10% charge per month.

Water/Sewer Charges (Outside City Limits)
Outside the City limits service area the rate charged shall be one and one-half (1.5) times the rate for service within the City limits.

Multiple Unit Water Rate Calculation
The water/sewer rates for multiple units will be calculated by multiplying the base charge by the number of units. The base usage allowed is also calculated by the number of units.
