NEWBURG PARK / DENNIS WENDT SPORTS COMPLEX
What is at Newburg Park?In 1979, the City of Fortuna purchased 18.5 acres of pastureland and created Newburg Park.
Newburg Park, located at 2700 Newburg Road, has a variety of recreational facilities including:
- 2 regulation hardball fields
- 2 regulation softball fields
- 1 regulation soccer field
- Additional soccer fields of varying sizes
- Picnic area
- Playground
- Bike Park
- Public restrooms
- All weather walking path
Park ReservationsReservation Process: Submit completed form along with payment of all fees to the Parks & Rec Office. Call (707) 725-7620 to check on a date but inquiries over the phone do not hold the date of requested use.
Liability insurance coverage is mandatory for some rentals which require a certificate of insurance for two million dollars including an endorsement naming the "City of Fortuna" as additional insured. The Certificate must specify the date, time and location of the facility rental. Special event insurance may be purchased through the City of Fortuna by calling the Park Office at 725-7620.
Park Rules
- Parks close at dusk
- Dogs must be leashed at all times
- No alcoholic beverages, except if notified in advance by the Parks Office and in designated picnic areas only
- No vehicles or horses allowed on turf areas, except during designated events
- Overnight parking and camping is prohibited
- No glass containers
