Citizens Academy
The Citizens Academy is designed to give community members an introduction into how our police department works, dispel misconceptions, and instruct and inform on everyday police operations. The training is open to any community member who is interested, but is mandatory for anyone wanting to become a police volunteer.
- Free of charge to attend.
- Applicant must be at least 18 years of age.
- All applicants will undergo a basic background check.
- Completion is the first step to becoming a Police Volunteer.
- Class size is limited to 24 students to ensure high officer/citizen interaction and a quality hands-on experience.
- Classes will be held for eight weeks.
