Animal Licensing & Fees

Licensing FeesResidents in the City of Fortuna are required to register their dog pursuant to the City of Fortuna Municipal Code. Failure to register your dog(s) can result in court fines through the Humboldt County Superior Court.

Annual dog licensing period is July 1st through June 30th and the licensing period is not prorated.

Seniors 65+ with a spayed or neutered dog are $5.00 per year.

Dog owners are subject to a late fee of $10.00 if the payment of licensing fees is more then 30 days delinquent.

Shelter Impound and Holding Fees
Impound, licence, and maintenance fees shall be collected prior to the release of the impounded animal.
