Planning Division

Overview
The Planning Division has primary responsibility for zoning and land use permits, as well as long-range planning. The Planning Division assists the public by providing information and guidance on preliminary development proposals, permit procedures, zoning standards, General Plan policies, property information, and other information relevant to land use and the orderly development of the community.

Responsibilities include review of:

  • Residential and commercial development
  • Subdivisions
  • Conditional use permits
  • Design review
  • Sign permits
  • Zoning review
  • Variances
  • Rezoning
  • General Plan amendments
  • Pre-application project review
Planning CommissionA seven-member Planning Commission approves discretionary development projects and serve as advisors to the City Council on land use and environmental decisions.
